Cool little town typically described as a “hippy-town” whatever that means. It has a boardwalk, a university and the school mascot is the banana slug:
I have many fond memories of hanging out in Santa Cruz, for work, for pleasure, and always have a great time in Santa Cruz. If you have never been there; go. Summer is best, but any sunny season will do.
Driving south on highway 1 from Santa Cruz you will find the lovely, but happily reasonably undiscovered town of Moro Bay.

Another place with fond memories for me. I spent part of my Honeymoon there some many years ago. It was beautiful then, with its pebble beaches, and secluded romantic spots, and beautiful it still is.
Continuing south on highway 1, just go ahead and skip LA and go straight to Orange County on this photo journey.

Yeah, I’m kind of amazed at what a good job various people I’ve known over the years do with those VW vans. It is a “labor of love”!

Check out the first photo – I was studying it a bit closer and it is really cool. Three triangles and a rectangle. It is amazing. Very sharp photographic eye.
