Well, they were all auctioned off last Friday (02-06-15) for $28.5 million – one car, a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider fetched $18.45 million to become one of the top five most expensive cars ever to sell at auction.
And here’s a nice video tour of the site and it has a handy list of all the cars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7IXn731Njw
Paging through images of those old vehicles is addicting! I just love this hybrid cycle-car three-wheeler:

I remember going to an artshow at the Phoenix art museum some years back – the theme was car as art and featured cars mostly from the years between the world wars. There was something about the design aesthetic that really grabbed me. When I left the show and looked at the cars on the road, they all looked so drab and plain. The styling on those old cars was awesome. Here’s an example of what I’m talking about:
Before:
Panhard-Levassor Dynamic coupe X76, Collection Baillon www.sportscardigest.com
And after:
La Panhard & Levassor Dynamic 1936-1939 www.lecaav.com
More amazing styling:
1949 Talbot Lago T26 Grand Sport – in this condition it fetched $1,924,264. Soon it will look like this:
Fun stuff!
