Here’s something interesting: a personal submarine. I’d love to have one of these; but they look kind of expensive.

From their informative website:
Unprecedented exploration platform
Merge the reliability and experience of the C-Quester submersible with an economic, modular, and versatile work-platform for research, exploration, scientific and offshore applications and you get the ultimate submersible in oceanographic activities, the C-Explorer.
With its practical configuration and full 360° acrylic pressure hull, this exceptional submersible cruises at 3 knots below the surface offering unparalleled performance.
Exploration, salvage, archaeology, biology, inspection, maintenance, filming
Optional equipment is ready to fit your needs: the C-Explorers can carry tools that allow scientists to work. HD cameras, high-intensity lights, magnetometers, bottom profilers and manipulator arms, etc. Whether being used for the monitoring of pipelines, the inspection of other facilities, welding operations or just film-making; the C-Explorers are easily equipped with additional tools.
Comfort
The pilot and the observer sit comfortably upright on regular seating while cabin pressure is maintained at one atmosphere. Cabin temperature and humidity is maintained at a comfortable level by the submersible`s air-conditioning system and all life support related parameters are monitored by the pilot.
Exploration, salvage, archaeology, biology, inspection, maintenance, filming. I’m interested in at least five of these fun-sounding deep-sea activities.
Which brings me to my next point; the urgent need for underwater cities now that we have these cool craft on the market. And with more and more people becoming millionaires / billionaires money I’m sure isn’t the problem. There’s got to be plenty of bored rich people needing new toys. The problem, clearly in my mind, is where do you go to party in your new personal submarine? You’ll need a fully functional underwater party city – a kind of Las Vegas beneath the waves.
Picture hundreds of personal submarines owned by your fellow network of uber – rich pals, along with important celebrities, cruising down, down, down to the abyss, down to the submerged city of sin beneath the waves. I’m thinking either the Caribbean or the Mediterranean, but you know it could be anywhere.
We all live in a Yellow Submarine,
Yellow Submarine

Exactly – but bigger, much bigger.
Thanks for cluing me to this! Too bad they seem to be having “problems” getting the darn thing built, but a back-log of 150,000 guests that want to stay in the underwater hotel?
See, I’m not the only one who thinks this is cool!
