These links are some of my personal favorites.
Gap minder is a lot of fun because you can see how people in the world and nations have changed over time in a very appealing animated format. This is a place you can learn a lot and have fun.

I like this one too! It’s easy to use and is attractive. This one is from 2012; and demographics in the U.S. do change over time – I can remember when everyone was moving out of Texas! Not anymore. Now it looks like New York, New Jersey and Michigan are emptying out. Arizona, we’re doing fine!

OK, be careful because this one is addicting the same way staring into a campfire or looking at a waterfall is addictive. If you have a boring task at hand, this one is fun to peek at randomly.
And I leave you with something else to stare at!
One more day to the weekend! You can do it!

Nerd huh…
I had known for some time that the word “nerd was hugely popularized by a certain Dr Seuss; but upon further investigation, I found a female posing revealing a luscious body, and the following:
“The first documented case of “nerd” was in Dr. Seuss’s If I Ran the Zoo, in 1950. The specific text was: “a Nerkle, a Nerd, and a Seersucker too”. It was just one year after the Dr. Seuss book, in 1951 in a Newsweek magazine article, that we find the first documented case of “nerd” being used similarly to how we use it today. Specifically, they used it as being synonymous with someone who was a “drip” or a “square”.

So you think gapminder is for “drips and squares”? Please invoke gapminder here:

Do “drips” and “squares” wonder about child mortality and whether or not it is getting worse or improving? Well, this drip and square is actually curious about the actual facts concerning such things and it looks like, from reviewing actual facts, that things, worldwide, are getting….better!
Love it! Nerd or no.

THAT ‘CHICK’ IN THE NERD ARTICLE IS SORT OF DISTURBING— even though the article is informative….. and maybe she is only disturbing to women— men will probably enjoy her ‘get-up’!
